The Healing Clinic will present the history of medical cannabis and law reform in the U.S., the rights of cannabis patients, the current Illinois law and the services offered at The Healing Clinic . Participants will learn how to talk to their physicians about medical cannabis and whether medical cannabis is right for them. The presentation will include medical research findings, case studies, and real patient experiences.

Feliza Castro is a local pioneer in the Medical Cannabis Industry. At 26, Feliza established The Healing Clinic, which is the very first Cannabis Patient Advocacy Center. Her plan is centered on the needs of qualifying patients who can benefit from the Illinois pilot program; providing them with advocacy, education and certification. Feliza founded The Healing Clinic with a mission to help suffering people understand and apply a law that was enacted to improve their quality of life.
Jonathan Spero, M.D. is the CEO of InHouse Physicians and a thought leader in the area of healthcare cost containment solutions for self-insured employers. Dr. Spero graduated medical school from the University of California, Davis. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine from Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego and has practiced both internal and emergency medicine. Dr. Spero is an expert speaker on employee health care cost containment strategies, energy and performance, as well as employee health and wellness. Dr. Spero resides in Chicago, Illinois.
Lauren Blair has been practicing law for 20 years, specializing in employment law and commercial litigation. In 2014, Ms. Blair started Lauren Blair Consulting (LBC), an employment law and risk management consulting firm in pursuit of a more collaborative legal practice that focuses on counseling businesses of all sizes and industries on strategies and solutions designed to improve workforce operations, enhance the workplace environment and manage the risk of employment law-related litigation. She specializes in providing employers with HR advice, training and policy/practice audits.
