Don’t allow stigma to keep you from the medical benefits of cannabis
Medical cannabis has the potential to help many people with a wide variety of medical ailments and conditions. But, some are reluctant to turn to cannabis for help simply because of the stigma associated with marijuana. If it can help, why not turn to medical cannabis for relief?
Keep in mind that this is not the same as recreational use of marijuana; this is medical cannabis. It’s the same as using any other medication, assuming it is properly prescribed by a professional. In many cases, it’s much better than other medications.
We’ve all seen the commercials on television. It starts with an advertisement for some new medication. Of course, the advertisement ends with an announcer reading, at lightning speed, a list of possible side effects. Almost inevitably, these side effects include diarrhea and/or death. When a medication kills the patient, it’s not a very effective mediation.
Next, the advertisements for a new medication is, almost inevitably, followed by an advertisement by a law firm ready to represent users of the medication in wrongful injury lawsuits associated with the medication. Medical cannabis stands clean above the rest in this regard. That’s not to say that there are no side effects but medical cannabis is naturally grown; it lacks the kinds of issues commonly associated with man-made medications.
What side effects might you experience with medical cannabis? Here are most of the possible side effects:
- Insomnia
- Hunger
- Giddiness
- Thirst
- Sleepiness
- Red eyes
- Short-term memory loss
- Anxiety
These are real concerns and should be weighed against the benefits in each individuals unique situation. However, it’s nice to see that the list does not include diarrhea or death.
