The Healing Clinic and Justice for Patients at the Illinois Women in Cannabis Spring Event
Last week, we attended a spring event hosted by the admirable organization: Illinois Women In Cannabis.
IWC (Illinois Women for Cannabis) is a not-for-profit organization that connects, educates, mentors and supports Illinois women of all ages and backgrounds, in order to maximize their opportunities in the emerging Illinois medical cannabis industry.
It was a fun filled evening that consisted of complimentary cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and plenty of discussion about future and existing opportunities for women in the Illinois medical cannabis industry.
Representative Lou Lang was in attendance and gave a very special speech about the current state of the Illinois Medical Cannabis Pilot program, addressing what our priorities should be as advocates of the movement in order to ensure that the program continues to move forward and in the right direction.
Here is a short clip of the speech Lang gave that evening:
Feliza Castro, Founder and CEO of The Healing Clinic as well as its sister nonprofit- Justice For Patients, was introduced as a prominent pioneer in the budding Illinois cannabis industry. Following Lou, Feliza gave a memorable speech about the importance of patient advocacy and how her organizations will continue work hard on behalf of registered cannabis patients and applicants of the medical cannabis program.
